a little child will lead them ... and other Prop 2 loose ends

I can't watch this video of little Mia Roberts enough ...  She's "crazy about ANIMALS!"  And, similar to Michael Bruner's two-year old in the last post, she knows implicitly that animals are captivating creatures which should not be forced to live out their existence in infinitesimally small cages ...

"Vote yes on Prop 2 ...  BRAWK!!"  I definitely second that!

For those of you who have been following Prop 2 closely, here are some other helpful and interesting resources on the crucial ballot measure (some have been mentioned previously):

- Yes! on Prop 2, the official campaign website which includes a plethora of important information and videos.  Also see the condensed Yes! on Prop 2 fact sheet (PDF).

- From The New York Times: "Standing, Stretching, Turning Around," a glowing editorial endorsement of Prop 2; "The Barnyard Strategist" by Maggie Jones, on Wayne Pacelle of the Humane Society and other advocates behind the push for Prop 2; and "A Farm Boy Reflects" by Nicholas Kristof, a thought-provoking and at times moving endorsement of "the most important election this November that you've never heard of."

- From the Los Angeles Times: "Prop 2 - For Animals and Our Humanity: Giving farm animals some elbow room wouldn't result in the scary business scenarios peddled by opponents" by Karen Dawn; "Footage of Mistreated Hens Released in Support of Prop 2" by Howard Blume, which reports on an investigation this Fall of a major California factory egg farm.  Also see Mercy for Animals' accompanying informational site and video (some graphic undercover footage).

- Without necessarily endorsing either of the following candidates for daytime pop supremacy, both Oprah and Ellen paid influential attention to Prop 2.

- And finally, in case you missed it, not one sparrow's blog recently featured a series (starting with this post) on the welfare of farmed chickens, which Prop 2 hopes to improve.  And here are the previous posts on Prop 2: "Proposition 2," "Prop 2 and the Environment," and "A Small Step for Factory Farming ..."
