the trucking duck

I'd like to thank my mother-in-law Laural Hudgin, an avid duck afficionado, for passing this video along.  It's one of the best I've seen all year, about a relationship that's as oddly comical as it is affectionate: "One morning last Spring, Frank followed Joe across the yard to his truck, and hasn't missed a day of work since."

It's apparent the trucker, a duck hunter, could be accused of some inconsistency in his dealings with water fowl.  But one also wonders if it's relationships like this which help the sporting community make connections they might not otherwise, just as pets have done for so many of us.  As Joe himself says: "I'm a duck hunter, but, I don't consider Frank a duck.  I just consider him a ... friend."

Amazing! What a nice way to end the work week. I think Joe's right. We all need a duck in our lives! : )

This is a wonderful story on so many levels. I love all of the smiles that these two bring! (And I love that his "hunting" dog refuses to participate!) Thank you so much for the story!
