twin baby moose and a sprinkler

Summer isn't far away, and I would imagine most of us remember playing in the sprinkler (maybe some of us still do)!  Who knew baby moose would find it just as fun?  Watching this video, it's hard to imagine a better example of the pure joy and playfulness of animal existence, even untamed.  It's like stumbling upon the garden of Eden in the middle of a 21st century backyard:

This is exactly the joie de vivre which God meant his creatures to be able to express, consistently, and without reservation or fear.  But this is exactly one of the realities which we as humans most consistently disregard and threaten, if not completely smother, in our gluttony and unnecessary sport.  Just think of piglets and calves on factory farms forced to gnaw on iron bars for lack of other means of play or even movement, and baby fawns left orphaned and unprotected by the perfect gunshot.

I'm very grateful to Judy Frasz for passing the video along, and to YouTube member arcticsooner for posting it.
