ghosts of the forest

A short PBS feature on the legendary and stunningly beautiful white deer of northern Wisconsin:

 

I'm grateful to Patty Hedges for making aware of these creatures in my current home state which seem more mythological than real.  You can find out more about them in the book White Deer: Ghosts of the Forest, by John Bates and Jeff Richter.  Apparently some other pockets of albino deer live in other parts of the state, and at least in Seneca County, New York as well.
