call for children's book reviews ... (two cents worth, aug. 7 '11)
recently at not one sparrow...
At long last (and perhaps a few sighs of relief), our FAQ series is coming to a close. In the last few months we've looked at the questions: "Is not one sparrow part of the creation care community?", "Do you even care about insects?" and "Do you believe animals have souls?" The whole series has been enriched by the thoughtful input of friends and generated some great dialogue, especially on our Facebook page. We have one last question left, essentially an opportunity for you to pose any other questions which have been overlooked, and to offer some motivation and ideas for individuals and church groups to get more involved in animal care.
call for children's book reviews...
A few years ago my mother gave me some of the books she used to read to me as child. I've realized just how many of them were about animals, and how much her reading them with me (over and over again, no doubt) must have influenced my love for God's creatures. I imagine many of you can relate, and so we'd love to invite you to share a tribute to one of your favorite animal books, whether from when you were a child or one you may have read to your own children, grandchildren or others you care for.

We'll be sharing them on our blog in a couple of weeks, so please let me know soon if you'd be interested in contributing! Honestly, don't feel your review needs to be professionally written - it could be a couple of paragraphs or as long as you'd like, with as many personal connections as you feel like sharing. I'll be happy to proofread and edit them, and track down a cover image (or feel free to send a personal photo reading the book). We just ask that the book and review be generally consistent with the type of content and tone we've shared in the past. That's a pretty broad umbrella, but feel free to run any questions by me. Anyway, I can't wait to read about some of your favorites and share a couple of my own!
many thanks...
